Sensex closed 297 points higher, closing the market with heavy downpour

Brent futures were up 0.33 per cent at $ 67.42 a barrel.

Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 297 points on Thursday. The Sensex was down 328.37 points during the day trading. It closed at 41,163.76 points with a loss of 297.50 points or 0.72 per cent. The Sensex was down 41,132.89 points during the trading session. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 12,126.55 points with a loss of 88 points or 0.72 percent.

Bharti Airtel, the Sensex companies, lost the most by 2.23 percent. Shares of Reliance Industries, L&T, Sanfarma, HDFC Bank, Maruti, Titan and Kotak Bank were also at a loss. On the other hand, shares of ONGC, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and Mahindra and Mahindra climbed 1.63 per cent.

China’s Shanghai, Japan’s Nikki and South Korea’s Cospy closed with a positive stance. The rupee was trading at a staggering 71.27 against the dollar in the foreign exchange market. Brent futures were up 0.33 per cent at $ 67.42 a barrel.
