FORBES LIST 2019: Virat Kohli not only cricketers, but also heavy on actors

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is not only important in terms of earning and popularity, not only on cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, but also on movie stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Forbes magazine has published a list of 100 celebrities of India, in which Virat Kohli is at number one. For the last three years, Salman Khan was on the first number in this list.

Not only this, for the first time a player has managed to reach the first position in this list of Forbes.

The magazine says that the list is prepared on the basis of the income earned by the profession and advertisements and their popularity. The 2019 list has been prepared on the basis of the assessment of earnings and fame made from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.

31-year-old Kohli’s earnings have been reported as Rs 252 crore 72 lakh. The magazine says that Kohli’s earnings include match fees, BCCI Central contract, income of the brand ambassador. Apart from this, it has been told that Kohli charges up to crores of rupees for each sponsored post of Instagram.

Akshay leads the earning

Actor Akshay Kumar, who earned Rs 293.25 crore, is in second place. But despite high earning, Akshay slipped to second place due to being less than Virat in terms of popularity.

Salman Khan has reached number three this time with an earnings of Rs 229.25 crore. Amitabh Bachchan and former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni are in fourth and fifth position. Amitabh’s earnings were Rs 239.25 crores, while Dhoni’s Rs 135.93 crores.

In sixth and seventh place are Shahrukh Khan and Ranveer Singh. Shahrukh’s earnings have been stated as Rs 124.38 crore, while Ranveer Singh’s income was Rs 118.2 crore.

Two women are among the top 10 celebrities. Alia Bhatt is in eighth place with Rs 59.21 crore and Deepika Padukone is in 10th place with Rs 48 crore. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is at the ninth position with earnings of Rs 76.96 crore.

Among other cricketers, Rohit Sharma earned Rs 54.29 crore this year and came in 11th place. Rishabh Pant is at the 30th position with an income of 29.19 crores. Pant was not in the top 100 last year. Hardik Pandya (Rs 24.87 crore) is ranked 31st, Jaspreet Bumrah is 33rd with Rs 23.25 crore.

PV Sindhu slipped

World winner badminton star PV Sindhu is slipped in this list. In 2018, Sindhu was ranked 20th but this year she has slipped to 63rd position with Rs 21.05 crore.

Similarly, Saina Nehwal was ranked 58th last year but this year she has slipped to 81st place.

Saina’s earnings have been three crores. Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri is 85th this year with Rs 6.1 crore. Chhetri was not included in the list of top 100 celebrities last year.

Mary Kom and Mithali Raj also

After this, six-time world champion women boxer MC Mary Kom is 87th with Rs 3.9 crore, Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj is 88th with Rs 2.63 crore and Smriti Mandhana is 90th with Rs 2.85 crore.

Harmanpreet Kaur, another star of the Indian women’s cricket team, is ranked 91 with Rs 2.12 crore. This year, wrestler Bajrang Punia has been included in this list. Bajrang is at 94th position with Rs 2.4 crore.

Golfer Anirban Lahiri is at 95th position with Rs 5.3 crore. Lahiri was ranked 81st last year. Tennis star Rohan Bopanna is ranked 98th at the bottom of the list of top-100 Indian sports celebrities with the highest income.

According to the magazine, for the first time, celebrity chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna have also got a place in the top 100 list.
