In 2019, Salman Khan’s much-awaited film Dabangg 3 has been affected by the ongoing opposition to the Civil Amendment Act in the opening weekend, due to which the film’s collections did not live up to the expectations of trade experts. Nevertheless, due to Salman’s stardom, the film has performed well in the opening weekend. According to initial reports, Dabangg 3 has raised around 80 crores in three days of release.
This third film of the Dabangg series was released on 20 December. The film took an opening of 24.50 crores. However, trade experts speculated that the film would take over 30 crore openings. Some had hoped to collect between 35-40 crores. According to trade experts, the film has had a widespread impact in the ongoing protests against the Civil Amendment Act in many parts of the country. If the circumstances were normal, the opening would have been different.
However, Dabangg 3 deposited 24.75 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, it is estimated that the collections have been around 29 crores, which together has collected collections of 78 crores in the opening weekend of Dabangg 3. Salman Khan looked satisfied with the film’s opening. In the Sunday episode of Bigg Boss 3, Salman thanked the audience for giving a strong welcome to Dabangg 3. The special thing is that the length of Dabangg 3 was shown to be reduced by about 9 minutes on the second day.
Dabangg 3’s three-day collection has been shorter than his film released this year. Released on the occasion of Eid in June, India had collected close to 95 crores in 3 days. India was Mid Week release, which hit theaters on Wednesday. From this perspective, the speed of Dabangg 3 has been slow.
Now if you compare it with the other films of Dabangg, then this is the best opening weekend of Dabangg series. Dabangg 2, which came in 2012, collected about 63 crores in the opening weekend, while Dabangg in 2010 collected around 49 crores in the opening weekend. Dabangg 3 is directed by Prabhudheva. Sonakshi Sinha, Sai Manjrekar and Kitchi Sudeep play the lead roles.
