CAA Protest: Police arrested another accused in Jamia violence case

On Monday, police arrested another 25-year-old man for his involvement in the violence near the Jamia Millia Islamia complex in Delhi, the country’s capital.

According to the report of news agency PTI, the police officer said that the accused Asad Ansari was arrested from Kalka ji area. According to police, the man, a resident of Jamia Nagar, was involved in a case related to the Arms Act earlier. They were identified through videography and technical surveillance.

A senior police official said Ansari was found involved in violence and stone pelting outside Jamia Millia Islamia. A total of 11 people have been arrested so far in the case of violence near Jamia Milia Islamia.

Earlier, Delhi Police arrested 10 youths in a ruckus that took place outside Jamia Millia Islamia University on the night of 15 December. Police had said that the youth have criminal records. Police had said that no students were among the arrested people. However, the police had said that the students have not yet been given a clean chit and the matter is being investigated.

Significantly, the 10 youths who have been arrested by the Delhi Police are accused of involvement in the ruckus that took place on the night of 15 December. Explain that Delhi Police had registered two cases related to the violence in Jamia.
