Alleging discrimination, Dalits from a village in Tamil Nadu said, “We will accept Islam

Some people from the Dalit community in Nadur village near Coimbatore have accused them of converting to Islam, accusing them of discrimination. Many of these people are from families whose 17 members died recently due to a wall collapse.

Dalits have announced that they will accept Islam on January 5. He said that he is a member of Tamil Puligal Kachi (TPK) and hails from Nadur village. TPK sources said that the decision to accept Muslim religion has been taken at a party meeting in Mettupalayam.

According to the report of the news agency PTI, party sources said that more than 2,000 Dalits have expressed their desire to accept Islam. Many of these people are relatives of those killed in the wall collapse incident. This decision has been taken after alleged action against the landlord under the SC / ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He also alleged that the police and other authorities were discriminating against him.

Recently 17 people were killed in a wall collapse incident in Nadur village. The party said that it was built by the landlord and there was no pillar to support this wall. The party alleges that the wall was constructed with the intention of keeping Dalits away from their homes.
